Riordan threatens to file a bad-faith bankruptcy

"Now you listen you up... if the IRS and the State have not been successful, what makes you think you will be?"

This was one of Riordan's many smart ass remarks when my Counsel, courteously and professionally, wrote him of our intent to collect on his debt to me. Here, he is obviously boasting of his success in curtailing the collection attempts made by the various tax collecting bodies. I have been kind enough to forward his remarks to the IRS and State Tax Board so that they may personally offer their congratulations.

In the meantime, we asked Riordan if he wanted to work with us so that we may conveniently schedule his Judgment Debtor Examination around his availability. His answer was to warn us that he would file for bankruptcy the day before the examination, if we didn't accept his offer of $1,000.

Thanks for the warning Riordan. You have made a cut and dry case for bad faith bankruptcy should you actually go through with what I expect is an empty threat. Me thinks that the Bar Association wouldn't think too highly of that tactic either. Capice?
